On June 11 last, the MAABN was delighted to invite its sponsors to attend a special networking evening held at the Villa Gaby on the Corniche J-F Kennedy, part of a Euro2016 event organized by UKTI under the banner “Sport is Great!”.
In the presence of the British Ambassador to Paris, Sir Julian King, the evening was attended by business executives from Britain, Russia and France on the occasion of the England-Russia football match at the Stade Vélodrome the same evening.
The programme included presentations by Richard Miron, deputy mayor in charge of sport at the Ville de Marseille, England FA chief executive Martin Glenn, Sergeï Voropaev, first vice-mayor of Kaliningrad, Simon Cooper, head of sports at the Mayor’s Office in London and Jay Jadeja of the Football for Peace organization.
A panel discussion with a Q & A session, chaired by Mike Lee OBE of Vero Communications and with Marseille Intercontinental Hotel director Madelijn Vervoord and Nick Hill of Real Land – Arthur Loyd, focussed on tips for doing business in Provence.
The networking session was followed by a cocktail buffet and the screening of two matches, Wales v. Slovakia and England v. Russia on the big screen.
