From Start-Up to Scale-Up, Marseille, April 11

The US Consulate General in Marseille is organizing a video conference for local entrepreneurs chaired by 1776 founder  Evan Burfield, at their premises on Monday April 11 at 5 pm.

The conference is part of an embassy-led effort to strengthen ties between US and French entrepreneurs. Guests will be able to join in the conference from the Marseille Consulate. If there are guests who cannot make it to Marseille on that day, dial-in information can be provided to join the conference remotely

Evan Burfield

Cofounder & Co-CEO, 1776

BurfieldEvan Burfield is the cofounder and co-CEO of 1776, where he works with startups around the world tackling important challenges in areas like education, health, energy, transportation, and cities. He is a frequent speaker and contributor to publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and Huffington Post. He is also an active angel investor as a cofounder of K Street Capital.

Evan’s past entrepreneurial endeavors have included cofounding netDecide in 1996 shortly after graduating from high school, helping to build Oakwood Global Finance in London as Director of Strategy, and founding Synteractive in 2006.

Evan holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford. Evan currently serves as a Trustee of the Federal City Council and on the Board of the Rothermere American Institute in Oxford.
