International Circle of the Friends of theMuCEM

The MAABN is proud to announce a new partnership with the the Friends of the MuCEM, with the founding of its International Circle.


Acclaimed by the press as “one of the world’s most beautiful museums”, the MuCEM opened its doors in June of 2013, the year Marseille Provence held the title of European Capital of Culture. The first national museum to be located outside Paris, and with a rich stock of collections mainly from the Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires and the Musée de l’Homme, the MuCEM’s exhibits embrace the fields of anthropology, history, archaeology, the history of art and contemporary art.

The International Circle, founded in partnership with the MAABN, aims to brings the Friends of the MuCEM to a wider, non-francophone audience both in France and around the world. It will allow non French-speakers to receive news about the MuCEM and to take part in the many events organized by the Friends, including exclusive guided tours, visits with curators and themed excursions.

The International Circle also aims to enhance the Museum’s profile internationally, promote patronage and encourage exchanges to better understand European and Mediterranean cultures and contribute to Museum project development.

The launch event, which was held at the MuCEM’s VIP Lounge on October 2 and attended by the presidents of Marseille’s bilateral chambers of commerce and business networks, attracted a full house.
