10th Anniversary Evening Hits New Heights

The MAABN pulled out all the stops to make its 10th Anniversary Reception at Château Ricard on June 26th last an evening to remember!

Although held on a Thursday due to venue constraints, more than 150 members and their guests were present to enjoy a wonderful evening of events, performances, good music, food and wine in the presence of the British Consul Simon Taylor and US Consul-General Ann Marie Chiappetta. Our sponsors and partners were also present in numbers, with stands  set up by OISE, British Council, EPIM, British Airways and Provence Patrimoine.

It being the 10th anniversary celebration of business networking in the Marseille-Provence region, the MAABN was particularly keen to make the reception a memorable occasion and, gauging by the comments from departing guests, it certainly succeeded.

The Games this year included the traditional Scottish “tossing the caber” (not an official Olympic event!) as a tribute to the Commonwealth Games being held this year in Glasgow, Scotland.

The first of the two performances by the Centre International des Arts en Mouvement followed, a theatrical juggling act by Florent Lestage using a combination of clubs and walking sticks that had the crowd totally mesmerized.DSC_7355 (Small)

The second performance by the CIAM was a high-flying trapeze act in the courtyard of the Château Ricard. The graceful routine  of DSC_7270 copy (Small)trapeze artist Chloé Gardiol was the highlight of the evening and drew a huge round of applause from the appreciative spectators.

The party then moved inside for the MAABN lottery draw, with many lucky winners going home with fantastic prizes donated by our generous sponsors and partners Barclays Bank, British Airways, British Council, Currencies Direct, Dolce Frégate, EPIM, OISE and Provence Patrimoine.

The disco took over from that point until well into the night, guests staying on until the early hours of the morning despite the fact that ‘tomorrow’ was a work day!

They were obviously having a good time…

The MAABN would like to thank its members for their continuing support and its partners and sponsors, in particular Ricard International, without whom the staging of this and other events throughout the year would not be possible
