Language Apero Tues. 10/4 Aix

Featuring MAABN sponsor the International Bilingual School of Provence (IBS)

Hosted at the Château Pontet-Bagatelle to coincide with the launch of their 2011 rose.

The International Bilingual School of Provence (IBS), an independent secondary school, has been welcoming students from around the world since 1984.  With over 460 day and boarding students of more than 40 different nationalities, IBS offers a bilingual curriculum in a diversified learning environment.

Students follow a rigorous academic programme which is completely bilingual for the younger students (6ème/5ème/4ème), with the option of following either the French national curriculum (Brevet, Baccalauréat) or the International Curriculum (IGCSEs, International Baccalaureate Diploma) thereafter. Beyond being one of only nine IB-accredited World Schools in France, IBS is also an international exam centre offering, among others, the SATs, PSATs, APs, TOEIC and ESOL exams.

During the holidays, academic camps are offered with language immersion and academic revision for over 400 internal and external students. For more information, please visit our website at or come and join us for our “Open House” on Saturday, April 14th from 9am-12 pm.

Chateau Pontet-Bagatelle
Route de Pélissanne

Chateau Pontet-Bagatelle is located just outside Lambesc in the “Appellation Coteaux d’Aix en Provence” wine growing area. We have seven hectares of vineyards with a targeted annual production of around 35 hectolitres per hectare for an output of approximately 24,000 bottles per year.

Our grapes are primarily Grenache (80%), Cinsault (10%), Syrah (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in a clay limestone soil (argilo-calcaire).  Production is 80% rose and 20% red wine.

We know that great wine starts in the vineyard and it is here where we work with nature to encourage only the best quality. We pick our grapes by hand and only in the cool of the morning.  In the cellar, we have invested in stainless steel and the latest technology to get the best out of the high-quality grapes produced in the vineyards.

As a result, we have been awarded numerous gold medals, in particular the gold medal at the Mondial du Rosé (Cannes 2009),  one of only 40 gold medals awarded in a competition that brought together 600 rose wines from around the world.

Don’t miss the launch of our 2011 rose!
