Get to know how important British tourism is in Provence and what is likely to happen in the future.

Backed up with recent facts and figures, some of those who are closest to this dynamic market will give their views on its development.

MAABN is pleased to welcome Mr Simon Taylor, British Consul in Marseille, who will outline the British presence in the area. Nicolas Geoffroy, R&D Manager with the Tourism Division of the Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce, will present the main trends in British tourism in Provence, leading us into a round table discussion on its impact and development. Around the table will be speakers from the Marseille Cruise Club, the hotel trade, Marseille Provence Airport, Barclays Bank and Provence Alpes Tourisme International, an organisation which groups together over 200 leading tourism professionals from Provence in promotional campaigns throughout the world, including Great Britain.

Although aware of the possible effects of the current economic and financial crisis, clearly hitting the British market hard, we must also look to post-crisis developments. Where in France does the near future hold out so much promise as here in Marseille-Provence, European Capital of Culture in 2013? British tourism will surely be back in force.
