MAABN's mission

MAABN is an non-profit organisation (association) which was created essentially to reinforce and support Franco-American business and cultural relations. Founded in Marseille in September 2004 by company directors, consultants and economic agencies - Mediterranean American Business Network’s (MAABN) vocation is to:

Develop an international platform of mutual support and business networking,

Federate, accompany and advise expatriates on returning to France, as well as foreign executive managers and company directors working in an international environment,

Drive and organise the network’s business oriented events,

Share companies’ intercultural experiences.

In order to accomplish all of the above MAABN’s network :

Organises conferences on corporate issues of American subsidiaries with the aim of sharing intercultural experiences.

Offers its members and sponsors visability via MAABN's website.

The organisation’s values are based on sharing information and experiences, offering cooperation and promoting the synergy of culture and expertise, in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Partners

MAABN works in partnership with :

The US General Consulate in Marseille, http://www.buyusa.gov/france. There are more than 108 US Commercial Departments in the US, as well as 160 offices worldwide. The US General Consulate disposes of a number of programmes and tools which enable companies to identify and locate the services and goods providers they require.

MAABN’s Honorary President is the General Consul, Mme Kathleen Riley. Representatives from the US Embassy in Paris have been regularly participating in MAABN’s conferences since 2006.

PROVENCE PROMOTION, www.investinprovence.com and the team operating its programme, « Home Sweet Home », work closely with MAABN. This original programme is unique in France, its aim is to accompany French expatriates in returning to France and to help them set up their own business. Once the expatriates  are back in Provence, MAABN plays a role in welcoming them and helping them in developing their business, as well as building a new international network.

MAABN has access to Provence Promotion’s entire network of contacts.

The Conseil Général (Marseille) supports MAABN in order to help it develop economic relations between the « département » and the US.

Practicalities

We organise informal events every 4-6 weeks. Members must pay an annual membership fee of 50 euros per person. For those people wishing to attend our events who are not members, they will have to pay an entrance fee which varies depending on the event. Sponsors will be visible on our website and will therefore have to pay an annual fee of a minimum of 300 euros per company.

Our events normally take place on Tuesday evenings between 6-9pm. Conferences are generally followed by a debate and cocktail. The venues are chosen in order to highlight and reflect the region’s economic activity (Place de la Joliette, Belle de Mai, Château Gombert, …) or elsewhere should a member or sponsor invite us.

Our conferences are attended by our members and guest speakers enabling participants to:

Share their expertise and experience, as well as,

Meet leaders in the field and therefore expand their personal business network.
