The MAABN (Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network) is a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports Franco-American and Franco-British business and cultural relations.
The MAABN was founded in 2004 by company directors, consultants and economic development agencies. It has developed into an international platform for corporate and cultural exchanges and business networking in the Marseille-Provence region.
The MAABN receives substantial support from the US Consulate General and the British Consulate in Marseille and is the Marseille-Provence region’s representative of AmCham (the American Chamber of Commerce in France) and the FBCCI (Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
The MAABN organises a monthly English-speaking business networking event, the “Language Apéro”, as well as various conferences. It also supports and promotes corporate and cultural events organised by its sponsors and partners across the region.
The MAABN offers its members and sponsors visibility via its website, webspace and newsletters and through the participation in or hosting of events. During the course of 2011, we held 20 or so events.
The MAABN works in partnership with:
- The US General Consulate in Marseille (www.buyusa.gov/france); The US Commercial Service is present in over 100 cities in the US and has 160 overseas offices worldwide. The US Commercial Service has a number of programmes and tools at its disposal enabling companies to identify and locate potential service and goods providers. The MAABN’s Honorary Co-President is US Consul, Philip Richards.
- Provence Promotion (www.investinprovence.com); The agency works closely with the MAABN, in particular the team operating its “Home Sweet Home” programme. This innovative programme, unique in France, provides support to French expatriates returning to France and setting up their own business.
- The Conseil Général (Marseille) supports the MAABN in developing economic ties between the département and the USA and UK.
